Children First Academy (CFA), the USA’s largest school for homeless and at-risk children, is in need of help to supply their students with life’s basic necessities. CFA has two schools located in Arizona, USA. Many of these children go without basics such as food, water and clothing, and often don't even stay at the same place every night – no place to call home. The one thing the children can count on is going to school every day – these schools.

The school relies on donations and volunteers to give these children something stable in their lives - an education, friends, and activities they may not otherwise ever be part of.

You can help by sending items from their ongoing Critical Needs List. Please note: all shoe sizes listed are in U.S. sizes; if you're outside the US and wish to send shoes but can't order sizes, you can try to find the correct size to send here.

For online donations, there is a space where you can note that you are donating in Michael’s memory. For checks/cheques, you can make a short note in the "Memo" section of your check/cheque. Tribute Team member Valerie noted on her donation, “Member of the Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait, in Memory of Michael Jackson.” If you’re sending items from their wish list, perhaps you can include a card in your package, as Tribute Team Member Michelle Gold has done, noting on her card, “Items have been donated in memory of Michael Jackson by one of his fans at the Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait," while Valerie did something similar.

NOTE: When you fill out the online donation form, it will select Paypal as the payment type. You will then be redirected to the Paypal website. You can donate through your Paypal account, or you can enter your credit card information at the Paypal website. You do not need to have a PayPal account to donate through PayPal.

***UPDATE: June 2012 – Our current Michael’s Angels badges, the first of which has been active for more than 2 and a half years, will be retired at the end of this month (badges assigned to members will remain on their profiles). While the badges are being retired, the efforts to carry on Michael Jackson’s humanitarian legacy will not! We encourage you to continue to support the charities, programs and initiatives we’ve highlighted so far in our Michael’s Angels program. We encourage you to keep volunteering and supporting charities that speak to your heart. Keep helping others; keep protecting the planet; keep doing what you do to make the world a better place and being an example to others, encouraging them to help heal the world.
