Meet Sami!: In the Spotlight
Love Through A Child's Heart Files
"Children show me in their playful smiles the divine in everyone. This simple goodness shines straight from their hearts. This has so much to teach."
-From the poem "Children," Dancing the Dream, by Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson knew at a very early age what it takes many of us a lifetime to learn: children can teach us so much. Michael loved all the children of the world. And to carry on Michael's legacy of Love for the children, I think it is very important to look for ways that will inspire the youth of today to become positive role models of tomorrow. So, my desire is that you will be enlightened by these stories from our younger generation. Periodically, we will shine the spotlight on one of our youth. Some stories will include volunteers, community leaders, those with special needs or talents in art/music/poetry/drama and members inspired by Michael to become a better person. Whatever the case may be, Michael Jackson had an impact on all of these young people and here are their stories. Enjoy!

Sami with her Mum
Sami was born in the USA on January 30, 2009. Sami's grandmother (Nani), Debbie Miranda (Miranda06), began a profile for her granddaughter with the Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait on June 21, 2010. She first shared Sami's story in a post on our New Generation of MJ Fans Gallery. Here's her comment: "This message is on behalf of my granddaughter Samiluvsmj, who is now 18 months old. It's as if she has a special connection with Michael...she can hear his music from far away and starts dancing- it's been like this since his passing and she was only 6 months old at the time. It's crazy how he [Michael] has the power to affect even the youngest of children...we will forever keep his music playing in our home as we want ALL our grandchildren to know THE KING OF POP. Thank you Miranda06 dot #253,526."
Sami's mother, Alicia, stated, "Sami has always loved to dance but, when we turn up the MJ hits, she gets the beat down and keeps it going until she has the whole room bobbin' their heads as she dances...she of course waits for the applause as the song ends! We will keep the King of Pop alive in our home."
It is amazing to see how Michael's music still illuminates the youngest of lives today, and how it is transcending to our next generation of tomorrow. Thank you so much, Sami, for being a part of the New Generation: In the Spotlight.
We encourage each of you to leave messages for Stephanie Marie, in the comment box below. You may also visit her profile by clicking on this link SamiluvsMJ.
