Having Trouble with Your Comments Section, or Some Other Function on Your Profile?
April 12, 2011 [Updated May 3, 2011] We've been hearing that some members have been having trouble viewing or posting comments recently, possibly around the same time we updated our home page. Please note that we made no changes that would affect anyone's profile, and we made no programming changes, other than to change the appearance of the main home page and the user home page (“What's New”). No features were added or removed.
It is also important to note that profiles which have either a lot of comments (example, over 1,000) or comments left with many pictures with links to other sites, moving pictures ("gifs"), etc. may take a few seconds to load (depending on your Internet connection speed), as your profile has to connect to each of those linked pictures (and therefore websites) in order to be able to display them all for you. Please just be patient and give it time to load so you can enjoy what your friends shared with you. UPDATED MAY 3, 2011: Microsoft posted a bulletin on April 13, 2011, regarding some incompatibiilties that the new Internet Explorer 9 has with some versions of JavaScript frameworks. We will be working with our tech support to try to make sure our pages are compatible with Microsoft's new browser changes, although as with all new software, there are often a few bugs to start with, and the software provider (such as Microsoft) works to correct the problem with more updates to get it working correctly. In the meantime, you may need to try a different browser; either rolback to IE8, or try Google Chrome (the latest version still works with our site!), Mozilla Firefox or Safari. For Windows 7 users (this option may work for other Windows users as well), to uninstall IE9 and rollback to IE8: Go to Control Panel> Programs and features> View installed updates. Find Windows Internet Explorer 9 in the list and uninstall it. [Be sure to reboot/restart your computer for the change to take effect. You should see Internet Explorer 8 was restored.] If you do not see IE8 upon reboot, you may need to reinstall IE8: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8 Click here for more information which may help you: http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/134849-internet-explorer-9-installed If you are an Internet Explorer user and are still having trouble rolling back to IE8, please visit Microsoft's website: http://www.microsoft.com/en/us/default.aspx or their support site: http://support.microsoft.com/ Comments for this post are closed. |
