Michael Jackson’s music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on his music. From the early years with the Jackson 5 singing "ABC" to "Thriller," the biggest selling album of all time...he was a force to be reckoned with. As he grew, he inspired me with songs that were meaningful and filled with positive messages, such as "Man in the Mirror," "We are the World" and "Heal the World."
I remember how excited I was to watch his 30 year anniversary special where he reunited with his brothers to sing all the old favorites. The Motown 25 where he debuted the Moonwalk was simply incredible! When I watched him perform, I felt alive. Every song he sang was filled with heartfelt emotion. As a young boy, he once said: "I don't sing it if I don't mean it." He had a way of connecting personally with each and every fan.
Michael has so many accomplishments that he has become an icon in the music industry. His contribution to music is something we should remember with love. Therefore, I would like to feature the following article in my blog this week. The author captures so eloquently why Michael Jackson is the King of Pop.
Lots of L.O.V.E.

Michael Jackson: No Need for an Introduction
By Ceasar Black

Michael Jackson may be the most difficult artist to capture through words on paper. As a musical phenomenon, he is the sound that will live in the stereos and iPods or whatever new innovation will come next, for the rest of time. There is no need for a fancy title, because his name is that powerful- it can stand on its own, and posses and deliver a million emotions.
It’s amazing how a single person could touch the entire world with their voice. A God-given gift, Michael is undeniably talented beyond measure. As a performer and person, MJ is the prime example of why music exists, displaying how the powers of voice and lyrics make ears of listening souls believe and become inspired. Michael, the 7th of 9 children, started his career at the age of 5. He was the lead singer of his family band, The Jackson 5. After an audition with Berry Gordy of Motown Records, the rest, as they say was history.
The band’s first 4 singles, "I Want You Back," "The Love You Save," "ABC," and "I'll Be There," all made US No.1 hits. The Jackson 5 recorded 14 albums; Michael Jackson also recorded 4 solo albums with Motown Records. In 1982, Michael Jackson released the world's largest selling album of all time, Thriller. It produced 7 hit singles and sold over 50 million copies. In 1984, Michael won a record-breaking 8 GRAMMY awards and decided he was officially going solo for good.
It was then that The King of Pop had no boundaries, and with a transition to Epic Records, albums such as Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, HIStory, Dangerous, Blood on the Dance Floor and Invincible, changed the music industry forever. His last American studio album Invincible sold 14 million copies; Epic Records and Jason Davis, CEO of Fahrenheit Media Group, worked closely with Michael to make sure that the collaboration of songs would deliver pure satisfaction.
Michael Jackson was a singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, choreographer, actor, businessman, and a philanthropist. He suffered disease, tragic accusations that were never proven to be true, and at times undesired and unnecessary limelight that resulted in a man who had no choice but to grow up under a microscope. Regardless of it all, he remained to be an admired father, brother and son, and continued to be the soundtrack of America. Michael Jackson has won over 200 major music awards, including 22 American Music Awards, 14 GRAMMYs, and 15 World Music Awards. The man invented the moonwalk and still has people doing the "Thriller" dance every October. It is bluntly true that there can never be another man like Michael Jackson.
Throughout his career Michael Jackson has met, befriended and worked with some of the most interesting people on the planet. The leaders from Motown, Sony Music, Epic Records and Fahrenheit Media Group have all accompanied Michael on the successes of his music. This man’s fan base includes some of the world’s most beloved singers today: Madonna, Usher, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and sister Janet- only a few of the stars who admire and place this man on an untouched pedestal.
In our lifetimes we will only be able to confirm a small group of individuals as a "legend," and it is certain to say that Michael Jackson is leading that tiny cluster. He will be continually loved and respected for what he has contributed to the world. His fans will remain forever grateful.
