Truth: In the Spotlight of the Next Generation
Love Through A Child's Heart Files
Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathon.
- Michael Jackson
Various reports have stated that Michael Jackson lived an eccentric, extravagant or sometimes reclusive lifestyle. Media outlets, with their uncanny sensationalism, have lead many into a fabricated web of deception when it comes to the truth about Michael Jackson. For example, the rumor Michael was bleaching his skin circulated through the press like wildfire. Truth: In 1986, Michael was diagnosed with a rare skin condition called Vitiligo, which was also conclusive with his autopsy report in 2009.
Could you image growing up in a glass house or a plastic bubble for the whole world to see? Well, Michael's life from the age of five to adulthood was well documented and scrutinized under the microscopic lenses of electronic eyes. Still today, people seem to forget that Michael was a real person with real human emotions. Michael said this about himself, “I'm just like anyone. I cut and I bleed and I embarrass easily."
Fame, jealously and greed often played their roles as well, when it came down to the truth about Michael or his family. The stories are endless as time moves forward; the media seems to grasp straws like little children, hoping to have the next top breaking news story to win the admiration of their viewers.
It's extremely thought provoking actually, to think how much Michael had to endure on a daily basis with threats, accusations and rumors. Nevertheless, Michael was always resilient and stood steadfast to his beliefs for the world and people that encompassed his life. These words from Michael echo on today, even two years after his passing...
In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe. -Michael Jackson
It does not matter our circumstances or occupation in life, what’s important to remember is that our lives affect those around us. Michael truly knew and lived the greatest truth of all, which is love. Truth: Michael’s life and love for others has had an eminent impact on an indefinite number of lives, but most influential being that of the children, the next generation.
In the spirit of love and carrying on Michael's legacy for the children, The Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait created a section just for our youth, ages 0-17 years, called Off The Wall: Our Youth Remembers Michael. The virtual wall offers incentives for our youth to share their thoughts, works of art, poetry, journalism and photos with other fellow dot members. Another section under the Love Through A Child's Heart tab is called In the Spotlight, which shines the spotlight on some of our youngest MJ fans. Our youth reveal how Michael has inspired them to dance, sing, write, draw, but most importantly, how to believe in themselves again. We would like to share their stories with you. Please click on each photo to visit with our youth and read their remarkable stories. [Please note* This article was revised August 10, 2012. All article links listed are now closed for comments.
