| Description | On this World Environment Day i thought of doing something....not
merely wishing my friends "HAPPY ENVIRONMENT DAY" but going one step ahead
and doing something that could bring all of us together in taking care of our planet in a small but significant way...
I've always been passionate about environment and the issue of water conservation is especially very close to my heart.Out of all the natural resource,water is perhaps the most precious'coz its so vital to all life forms.I truely believe that
WATER IS LIFE.But due to man's mismanagement of water resources there's an incresing shortage of safe,healthy drinking water all over the world.Here are some facts that present a shocking
picture of WORLD WATER CRISIS :
1: Water scarcity already affects every continent and four of every ten people in the world.
2: By 2025, nearly 2 billion people will be living in countries or regions with absolute water shortage.
3:The water and sanitation crisis claims more lives through disease than any war claims through guns.
4:At any given time, half of the world’s hospital beds are occupied by patients suffering from a water-related disease.
5:Less than 1% of the world’s fresh water (or about 0.007% of all water on earth) is readily accessible for direct human use.
Its clear from above that there are millions who don't have access to safe drinking water and if we have that access then we should consider ourselves really blessed....but this luck is'nt gonna stay with us forever not when water continues to get wasted in kitchens,bathrooms,toilets,while washing cars.
When all the water supplies'll get exhausted,then what?? How'll will the future generations survive???? :-((
I truely beleive that the solution lies within ourselves.Michael said" If you wanna make world a better place,take a look at yourself and make that change".This is the key guys,changing ourselves,our lifestyles and making it more eco-friendly or i should say water-friendly :-)).
If we can adopt even few little changes in the way we use water,then this will go a long way in
ensuring water conservation.All memebers kindly visit the discussion forum to learn some really
basic tips of reducing water wastage...:-))) And one more things friends please remember THIS GROUP BELONGS TO ALL OF YOU, i really need your help and support.Please share your ideas on reducing water wastage,invite new members so we may all learn from each other.Together we can make a difference 'coz WE ARE THE WORLD:-))
Let's do this for our children and or children's children so that they know what's a better world for them!!!:-)))))
