| Description | Believe It or Dot!
Ever since I joined the Tribute on Michael's Birthday, I've been connecting my dot to many of Michael's fans from all over the world. I've met hundreds of people and formed many meaningful and ongoing friendships.
Something amazing occurred to me today when I met a new friend from Spain...
She told me that she had the best day after discovering this tribute and joining. She said three good and unexpected things happened to her after signing up: She spontaneously met someone who offered her a job, she received a call from an old friend who she had lost touch with for more than 10 years and her son won a chess tournament. She said “it all started with the dot!”
I realized that she wasn’t the first person to tell me that getting a dot seemed to spark good luck. I’ve had at least 10 people on this site describe something similar and attribute the good luck to getting the dot!
During the past several months, and mostly in the past few weeks, a number of other dot members, all from different parts of the world, have shared their feelings or told me stories about how their lives have changed for the better after getting their dot. Being part of the portrait not only helped them mourn Michael's loss, and feel connected to other fans and form friendships, but they shared how it paved the way for a change, a wish to come true or something positive to occur. When I heard these stories individually, it didn’t ring a bell. But today I saw the big picture and when I put it all together – it truly seemed magical to me.
A woman from Romania said she found out she and her husband were going to have their first child on the day she got her dot. After trying to have a baby for two years, this was surprising news. A law student in the United States finally passed the bar exam. A young man from Sweden told me he got to meet his favorite dance group, Bounce, after joining the tribute. A singer from Germany got a record deal!
These were all separate stories with one thing in common. When they got their dot and joined this community, something unexpected and good happened. It made me wonder if there are more magical stories out there that members are attributing to Michael's Portrait!
I am fascinated by this, and, with the more stories I hear, I am becoming a believer in “the power of the portrait”! Please share your story here of good luck after getting your dot. There might be something to this...
