Watch A Work of Art in The Making! Michael Jackson’s Tribute Portrait.
Behind each dot you see in the portrait below, there is a real person – a fan – somewhere in the world who came here, like you,
to be part of Michael's legacy.
A dot is not drawn on the canvas by Artist David Ilan until someone signs up for it.
To complete Michael's Tribute Portrait, it will take at least 1,000,000 fans to get a dot! Tell your friends – and watch it grow.
About the Pose: The drawing represents multiple moments in Michael's life, from his younger years to more recent times. There will be more than one image of Michael in this drawing. Since fans have different opinions on what Michael should look like in the drawing, I came up with a concept that will make everyone happy. How will the different images of Michael work together in the drawing? It's a secret that is being revealed daily, dot by dot... The drawing will take a few twists and turns along the way so check back often.
Artist Log
Everyone who signs up for a dot in Michael’s Portrait is given a unique dot number. Extensive records are kept that correspond to each dot being drawn – who signed up for it, on what day, and where it is drawn on the canvas. Find the location of your dot on the Artist’s Log by finding your dot number in the chart. Then, zoom into the portrait for a better look!
Dot Placement:
Below is a record of all the hand-drawn dots placed on the canvas so far.
